On March 16th we made the very difficult decision to close The Sarnia Chiropractic and Performance Centre due to Coronavirus (COVID-19). While currently we are deemed non-essential, we are able to provide emergency care for specific conditions. Initially we chose to only provide support in a telehealth capacity, in an abundance of caution, both to see the direction the virus took on our community as well as take the time to ensure we had taken every appropriate precaution prior to seeing patients in our clinic.
At this time we feel confident in our ability to safely provide "emergency care" to our community. Emergency care includes, Care for patients experiencing a sudden and debilitating change in functional abilities (understood as walking, standing, sitting, lifting floor-to-waist or waist-to-shoulder, stair climbing, ladder climbing) or significant restrictions (experienced during bending/twisting, repetitive movement, pushing/pulling with right/left arm) as well as injury to head/neck/back and extremities. Or treatment aimed at alleviating significant pain, understood as pain that is incapacitating for the patient and interferes with their ability to carry out normal functioning.
To deal with any emergency patient, we have taken all recommended safety precautions with the utmost respect and have enacted all of these hygiene recommendations for your continued safety. As a clinic we are using appropriate PPE for treating practitioners and staff alike, increased use of antibacterial table cleaners, additional cleaning responsibilities in common areas, social distancing in the waiting rooms, cough-guards installed for front desk interactions and more.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any appropriate questions or concerns or to see if you would be considered for an emergency visit. At the time of booking you will be screened appropriately and provided with the necessary information to safely proceed with your visit. We are also still providing the opportunity for telehealth over video or telephone platforms if more appropriate for your needs.
These emergency/telehealth visits are now available for Dr. Anning, Dr. Baert, Dr. Hodgins and Dr. Vargo. You can reach our clinic at 519-344-5665. You all remain in our thoughts, stay safe and all the best!

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive alternative to surgery for those suffering from many joint and tendon disorders. The Shockwave machine sends out acoustic waves into the bone or soft tissue that breaks up any scarring that has penetrated into the tendons and ligaments. This process also allows the body to regenerate blood vessels and bone cells which leads to faster healing and a quick return to pre-injury activity levels.
Laser therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment method that uses red and infrared light to target inflamed and injured tissues. The photon energy from the laser penetrates through the skin to the tissue and interacts with the cells to help restore normal cell function and enhances the body's natural healing process.
Sports injuries, whether in an elite or recreational athlete require specialized care. This care can range anywhere from performance enhancement, to injury prevention, to the effective and efficient treatment of an injury if and when one occurs. Sports medicine encompasses the care for participants of all ages and all levels from recreational to professional.
